R.O.D The TV

R.O.D The TV takes place five years after the events of the OVA series. Nenene is a novelist who's struggling with writers block. While in Hong Kong for a book signing Nenene meets Anita, Maggie and Michelle (private detectives known as the paper sisters.) After an incident involving a jealous and failed writer, the paper sisters are hired to guard Nenene. 

Kanon (2006)

I could possibly be wrong about this, but I believe the 2006 version of this anime is better then the first Kanon anime that was released. In case anyone is wondering or doesn't know, the 2006 version is a remake. This anime is also on 98% of all 'Saddest Anime Ever' lists found online.

Kanon is about a boy named Yuichi Aizawa who moves into his aunt and cousins house to attend high school. He doesn't remember much about the town he used to visit as a kid, but during his stay he meets several girls who he used to know as a kid. As Yuichi helps each girl deal with their own problems he also learns more about his past.

NOTE: An 'Uguu' a day keeps the doctor away.

Alien Nine

I think it's about time I introduced everyone to this show. One of my all time favorites!

Alien Nine is about a girl named Yuri Otani who get's elected into the schools 'alien party' and now she's an Alien Fighter. Being an Alien Fighter does have it's perks though. She can attend any school she wants and when an alien shows up she can skip tests. The only problem is Yuri is terrified of aliens and now she has to catch them while wearing one on her head. While in the Alien Party Yuri befriends two other girls named Kumi Kawamura and Miyu Tamaki.

When Kanata Sorami was a child she was rescued by a mysterious, but beautiful soldier who played a golden trumpet. Now that she's 15 she dreams of learning how to play, so she joins the army. Kanata is assigned to 'Clockwork Fortress' which is located on the very edge of 'no mans land'. While there Kanata learns how to play a bugle and become a soldier. She also learns more about the world she lives in and inspires her fellow platoon members.

Murder Princess

This may be considered cheating a little, but I wrote a review about this anime the same day I posted this. It's worth checking out. It's a fun show!

Murder Princess takes place in the kingdom of Forland. A man named Dr. Akamashi leads a coup against the royal family. The only survivor, Princess Alita, fleas the castle and soon runs into an infamous bounty hunter named Falis. The two plummet off a cliff and just as they are about to die their souls switch places. Now Princess Alita is in the body of Falis and Falis is in the body of Alita. Alita begs Falis to save her kingdom and even offers her entire being to the bounty hunter. Falis agrees and she and her partners rush to Alita's castle.

Strawberry Marshmallow

I'm sure that I've mentioned this series in my regular blog. This show is really cute and it's something I feel anyone could just relax with. It doesn't have a complicated storyline, it has some warm and touching moments and it's certainly worth checking out.

Strawberry Marshmallow is a slice-of-life, comedy anime staring Chika, her big sister Nobue, Miu, Matsuri and Ana's daily lives together. Whether it's baking, checking out Nobue's new job, or just spending most of their time in Chika's room, the girls are always together and causing mischief.

This show is twelve episodes long and there are two OVA series. The anime has been released through Geneon, unfortunately no one has attained the distribution rights to the OVAs. I'm hoping that will change in the near future. 

Mokke

Even though I haven't finished this series yet, I still want to take a moment and talk about it.

Mokke is about two sisters named Shizuru Hibara and Mizuki. The girls are normal girls, except Shizuru can see spirits and Mizuki is easily possessed by them. Because their parents don't know how to deal with it, they send them away to live with their grandparents. While there Shizuru and Mizuki encounter several types of spirits and most stand together to deal with them.

Even though I haven't finished this series yet I have to say it's really great. It's a fun series and it's got it's moments.

Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight

Here's another show starring cute characters with plenty of MOE, but it's a pretty unique show.

The show takes place in the future. The birthrate in Japan is declining significantly and several schools are closing as a result. A girl named Manami Amamiya transfers to Seioh High School. At the same time Mika Inamori, the student council president, is trying to get other girls to join the council, but no one seems interested. No one except Manami Amamiya. Soon Mutsuki Uehara, Mei Etoh, and Momoha Odori join the student council as well.

This anime is twelve episodes long and one OVA was released. Unfortunately no one has grabbed the distribution rights to this show yet.

A Little Snow Fairy Sugar

I wanted to go ahead and introduce you guys to a really cute anime series. I don't know how popular this show actually is, or how many people have heard of it, but it's a really cute and fun series.

A Little Snow Fairy Sugar is about a little fairy named Sugar and her friends, who go to earth to find something called a Twinkle. They want to be full-fledged season fairies so they have to find them. Unfortunately Sugar doesn't know what a twinkle is and soon her hunger gets the best of her. That's when she meets Saga, who kindly gives her a waffle. Soon Sugar is living with Saga and make her life harder, but certainly more interesting.

The show is cute and I do enjoy watching it. The anime is twenty-four episodes long and has two OVA series. If you want to watch something cute and non-threatening then you should really check this show out.
